A landscape rich in diverse ecosystems and societies is deeply attractive to visitors. For those communities, inbound tourism can provide a vibrant livelihood that creates jobs, education, and appropriate infrastructure. Without proper consultation, planning and management, infrastructure overwhelms the landscape and visitors damage the landscape they came to enjoy: locals will see no sustainable benefit, and their most precious resource is lost. The challenge of ecotourism is to find a balance between tourism, the ecosystem, and the communities that live there.

Utilising our skills in linguistics, ecological and cultural analysis and collaboration across different cultures, we work with governments, development agencies, scientists, and local communities to build resilient ecosystems and economies. We help at multiple stages of the process, from conducting an initial survey and developing a sustainability plan to planning, monitoring and evaluation.
